Our Story

Xing is the founder of Vashoy, an independent vegan handbag brand focused on thoughtful design and animal-free materials. With more than 20 years of experience in fashion sourcing, supply-chain management and production, she created Vashoy to bring greater transparency to how handbags are designed, sourced and made.

The idea for Vashoy became personal after Xing welcomed her cat, Little Tiger, into her life. Their bond changed the way she thought about animals and the materials used in fashion. She began asking a practical question: could a handbag be beautiful, functional and thoughtfully made without using animal leather? That question became the starting point for Vashoy.

Vashoy designs vegan handbags using material made with pineapple leaf fiber. Based in Guangdong, southern China, Xing works close to the region’s pineapple-growing communities and the source of this agricultural material. This proximity helps Vashoy better understand and document the journey from harvested pineapple leaves to fiber, finished material and handbag.

Xing’s more than 20 years of experience in fashion sourcing and supply-chain management guide how Vashoy develops each bag. This includes evaluating materials, refining samples, reviewing construction and working directly with production partners.
